You Spilled.

December 18 2009!

Tonight Doug and I went out to dinner.

I had a big, delish-us glass of ice water.  On my second refill the waitress spilled a bunch of it with out noticing.  I noticed.  I didn’t say anything.  It wasn’t a big deal.

we were almost done eating and Doug looked down and said “did you spill?”  I said “no, the waitress did when she put my glass down, but it was all contained by the napkin underneath.”

Then, when the waitress came by to give us our check and clear our table she asked “Oh, did you spill?”  I just smiled and said “No, you did.  When you brought me my second glass.”

She looked mortified.  As if this was the worst thing to ever happen to her.

She apologized all over the place for it.  She even offered me a ‘to-go’ cup because she had spilled so much of my water.   She was so nice.  We should have tipped her more.

blogs make me smile.

December 17 2009!

Today I realized how truly excited I get when I go to read one of my blogs that I keep up on and they have posted a new piece!  Nothing makes me happier right now.  I really enjoy living vicariously through other people’s lives.

Not only that But I also feel as though they are amazing inspiration for my own life.

For example:  I stumbled upon this gorgeous blog Happy Loves Rosie!  Not only is her esthetic purely amazing and beautiful but I was looking for exactly this on accounta I want my home to echo these same colors and design philosophies.  I cannot believe what amazing things you can find by looking at other people’s blogrolls.   Therefore I have decided to put up on my blog roll every single blog that I read.   So that you may, too, enjoy the wonderful-ness that is these blogs.

Please let me know as well if there are any blogs that you read that are wonderfully awesome and colourful and creative.  Because I want to read them too!

Cheers!

Snow Day!

December 9 2009!

I am so excited that it is a snow day!

Here in Wisconsin we got about 16 inches of snow since I came home from work at 5 last night.  Which led to an awesome occurance on our second story patio!

On the right side of that photo is our trusty forcaster Flamenco the flamingo.  She says that it has snowed.

Doug and I are chillin’ like villians…literally.  I felt so devilish watching the man’s car get stuck in the parking lot of our apartment.  But there was nothing we could do.  We don’t have a shovel.  He ended up calling a friend of his and he got him out.  We cannot believe that our parking lot has yet to be plowed!  Snow drifts up to my belly and still no sign of being able to get out.  I’m just happy that I went grocery shopping 2 nights ago.

Also two nights ago I started a scarf that I had heard about from lindamade who had the pattern on Ravelry.  This scarf is knitting up so quick, I cannot believe my eyes!

Someone is going to get something happy under the tree!

listless.

November 14 2007!

so it’s been quite a while since i posted.
and i feel as though i really need to especially since i got my swap list for the ornament swap.

boy.

am i pumped.

so what have i been doing lately?

. I’ve been working on my memoirs especially about work. I’m trying to have little bios on each of the customers so that i might never forget what they were like.
. I’ve been cleaning like crazy. There is something about the fall that just makes you want to bake, and have a clean house, and have that warm cozy feeling.
. It’s hard to have that warm cozy feeling when my fiance’ wants to keep the windows open.
. I’ve been doing more brainstorming than doing as per what needs to be done for christmas. I’ve got scads and scads of things that I need to make for everyone. Thankfully all of the men are going to be getting food. ssssh…they don’t know what kind of food.
. There is a dirty jobs marathon on right now but I don’t care. I can’t wait for the Project Runway maraton that is going to be on tomorrow starting at 8 am. because, let’s face it, I’m a Project Runway junkie.

that’s about all.
I want to make some cookies tomorrow.

hopefully that’ll happen.
I really need to get my camera up and running so that i can post pictures and not have this be so lackluster.

so. lets see, what have i done?

i made two potholders.

some birds.  i’m really building up my flock.  (hehehehe)

i made some bread.  two loaves to be exact.

and i just got a recipe for some flax-seed crackers.  i really want to make those, but i don’t have any flax seed.  sigh.

today the finace and i went downtown to look at a few shops and such and we were sitting on a bench when this little old man, clad in packer gear, with a guitar came and sang to us.  then we went into this little irish shop and he was in there singing tulraluralura (an irish lullaby)

it was such a nice day.

such a wonderfully nice day.

i’ve discovered some really awesome great blogs. and should really put them on here as links, and some day, yes, i will get around to that.

late night of discovery

October 29 2007!

so.

tonight i’ve been poking around from blog to blog, doing my best to discover new artsy funky people.  and BOY haven’t i discovered some good ones.

who knew that going onto lifewithmonkey.wordpress would lead me to some of the best discoveries ever.

did you know that there was a “scrap swap”?!  i want to be a part of that next year. i’m going to try not to forget about it.  and one of the other ladies on here was talking about how she had a blog meet-up.  neat-o.

I really need to get a friggin’ camera.

i’ve made so many birds. and i want to document that…oh well.

i’ve been really dressing like a school teacher lately.

in the winter months i embrace my cardigans.

i would absolutely love to make something for myself. but i’m not sure how to go about it.   i’ll learn eventually.

if anyone is a really good teacher at knitting and junk as such i’d love to learn.

give me a heads up.  i know how to knit a little but hardly much at all, and i have such a time deciphering those “directions” all the abbreviations really throw me for a loop.

in a pickle

October 25 2007!

i made some pickles today.

9 jars.
i forgot to put in salt.
hopefully it’ll still turn out.
i’m not really sure.

5 of the jars haven’t “popped”
so we had to re-heat them so that they might pop.

I sincerely hope that they do.

doug cleaned.
i watched.
i slept.

and now we’re watching “the hoax”
with richard gere.
it’s pretty damn good.
howard hughes…
what an interesting fellow.

season 4 of the L word came out on dvd…i’m not sure when that happened, but i rented the first disk. and i’m pretty pumped about that. i’ll have to watch the last episode from the 3rd season. i’m so incredibly excited about finding out what happened….i really need to catch up on it. woot woot.

Day off. Day of creating.

October 18 2007!

I had an interview at 8 this morning.
it went horribly.
I had a meeting at 9 this morning.
it went swimmingly.

then i went over to my mother’s.
we went grocery shopping,
went back to her place,
made some almond butter,
and i went home.

well, i was going to go home, but i got sidetracked and went to this little organic shop downtown called Kindred Spirits Organics. I hadn’t been in there before, i don’t think that they opened up that long ago.

one great thing about them is that they sell art by local artists.
I inquired about how i can get my things sold there.
they told me.
i smiled.
it was good.

I bought a candle there, it smells like “harvest”

i went home and made some hummus
–following a recipe that i had gotten on another blog.
it’s fairly simple.
I also made some bars that i’m going to hand out at work tomorrow.

can’t wait.
i wrapped them up quite nicely.

doug and i each made some bird keychains while watching good eats.

sorry that this is so boring.
perhaps i’ll stop with the “daily” nonsense.

but it was just really exciting to know that i might be able to sell my stuff at a shop downtown.
